Mt. Vernon Place UMC wants to partner with individuals within the Mt. Vernon community as we explore opportunities to serve the community.  We welcome anyone who has a passion for making a difference. We want a diversity of opinions and perspectives - we want to be inclusive of all who wish to participate in order to best represent the variety of stakeholders who live in, work in, or visit our community.

We will  not  be  meeting  on Mother’s  Day  (5/12), nor the following week (5/19), but  will  continue  on Sundays,  at  noon,  starting  again  on  May  26.    We  will  meet  on  a  series  of  Sundays  in  the  library  of  Asbury  House  (adjacent  to  the  church).

Participants are not required to attend every Sunday, but are encouraged to attend as often as possible to add their voice to every discussion and decision.

We hope to see you there.

Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, in all the places you can, at all the times you can, to all the people you can, as long as ever you can.

United Methodist Leaders Affirm Baltimore

Leaders in the Baltimore-Washington Conference respond to negative and disparaging remarks about our beloved city.

Serving in Baltimore        Dr.  Rod Miller, MVPUMC

I find Baltimore to be wonderfully diverse and real.   Some of our folks live in the immediacy of day-to-day and seek the help, comfort and challenge that comes from being a part of a church. Others are looking for a faith community to call home.  In Baltimore we address questions of meaning and purpose along with continually finding ways to make faith, hope and love tangible.
I am grateful for our congregation who naturally conveys radical hospitality with all people. MVP offers a healing connection with the living God as we address real issues and problems. In some ways, the church is the mission and the mission is the church.  There is a refreshing honesty, mutual acceptance and respect in our relationships. I love serving with our amazing congregation as we find ways to reach out with compassion and love in Baltimore.
